A PERVERTED transsexual who raped and terrorised two women in attacks marked by evil domination and kinky sex has failed in his appeal court bid to overturn his convictions.

Rachael Tuscani - formerly Bruce Middleditch - made one woman dress in a PVC cat suit and subjected her to degrading roleplay involving whips and handcuffs, the court in London heard.

Tuscani, now 39, acted out scenes from graphic videos with the woman - identified in court only as H - and also forced himself upon another victim, P, during the spate of attacks in the 1990s.

Lord Justice May told London's Appeal Court a "theme of domination" had run through the offences but said Tuscani had dismissed the women's allegations as pure fabrication.

Tuscani (pictured), of Faroe Close, Popley, Basingstoke, was convicted of two counts of rape and one of another serious sexual offence in relation to P, and two counts of rape in relation to H, following a trial in June. He was jailed for five years.

On November 23 this year, at Winchester Crown Court, Tuscani was also convicted of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered after torching his own home on March 14 last year.

Tuscani, who was further found guilty of attempting to obtain property by deception, claimed his house had been petrol-bombed. He has still to be sentenced for these latest crimes.

He appealed against the sex convictions on the grounds that the charges relating to P and those involving H should have been tried separately.

With each woman giving evidence that supported the other's account, his lawyers argued he had been subjected to "a tidal wave of prejudice".

But Lord Justice May, who heard the appeal case with Mr Justice Goldring and Mr Justice Gross, said the two sets of charges were intertwined and the trial judge was right to conclude that "each was probative of the other".
