ISLAND health chiefs want to bill the Deparment of Health for transferring patients to mainland hospitals.
A meeting of the authority's trust board will hear today that it costs an extra £3 million a year to take patients to hospitals on the other side of the Solent in Island amublances. Bosses now want to bill the Government for the transfers but the Department of Health says the authority should not be treated any differently from other authorities across the country.
