AN information leaflet on how to get help from social services and health services during the Christmas and new year holiday is available at GP surgeries, libraries, county council information centres, citizens advice bureaux and community councils.
It is part of a Hampshire county effort to remind people to be 'a good neighbour' and keep an eye out for anyone living near who could be vulnerable and need a bit of extra help.
The plea comes from the county's executive member for social care, Cllr Felicity Hindson.
Social services staff will be providing help as usual throughout the holiday for those who rely on the department for support and to deal with social care emergencies.
"The long Christmas and new year holiday can make things harder to cope with for people under pressure in their everyday lives, for whatever reasons, particularly those who are old, disabled or living alone," Cllr Hindson added.
