THE Queen's Jubilee may not be until June next year but the village of Weyhill is already making plans to celebrate the event in style.
Celebrations are planned for the Bank Holiday on 3 June and will be based on the new Fairground Village Hall.
Events being planned include a host of activities for families as well as a traditional children's tea party and disco.
A festival of specially brewed Jubilee beers, barbecue and a disco is planned for the evening, rounding off what should be a memorable day.
Leaflets will soon be popping through letter boxes in the Weyhill area, appealing to local people to come forward with offers of help and ideas.
Another project is to mark the occasion by presenting every child under 16 in the village with a specially commissioned Jubilee Mug.
Organising committee spokeswoman Janet Rayner said: "Our aim is to involve everyone in the village, young and old, established residents and newcomers alike.
"The last Golden Jubilee was 105 years ago, so this will be an occasion not to be missed."
