AN elderly woman in her seventies is hoping that the thief who stole a Christmas wreath from her front door will have an attack of conscience and return it.

"I am a flower arranger. I made the wreath and it is unique," she said. "I used a gold wicker wreath, decorated it with artificial ivy and poinsettas and placed it on my front door in Croye Close on Saturday afternoon.

"By Sunday it had gone. It made me feel very emotional. We had lights stolen one year but found those dumped further up the road. I would just like to say to the thief, 'Please put the wreath back'."
