LAST weekend's matches in the HSA Youth League were the last before the Christmas break but many of them were postponed due to a hard overnight frost.
Only two teams still have a 100 per records - Pete Lewington's Hatch Warren Under-14's and Kevin Jones' Durrington Under-12's - at the halfway stage in the season and congratulations go to both sides.
'Warren continued on their merry way with a 14-0 away win against fourth placed CK Andover, Stockbridge also managed to beat the weather but lost their 'keeper with a wrist injury early on when going down 9-1 at home to Durrington and in the other game in the top flight Swan Hill leap frogged over CK to move into fourth spot following their 7-1 triumph against basement boys Lyndhurst.
At under-13 level the only game to be played saw Simon Bevis' Castledown regain top spot with a decisive 4-1 away win at Whitchurch and only one game survived at under-12's with second placed Hatherden staying in touch with leaders Durrington with a 6-4 away win against Worthies 'A'.
All the scheduled games were played in the first division of the under-11 section. Leaders Salisbury lost for the first time in the league when going down 2-0 to South Wonston in third spot while Broughton produced a fine second-half showing to beat much improved bottom club Amesbury 4-1, the sides were level at 1-1 at half time. At the bottom of the table Whitchurch returned to winning ways with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Upper Clatford. In the seven-a-side competition in the second division Castledown maintained their five point lead at the top after beating their nearest rivals Durrington 4-1 at home and Vernham moved into second spot following their 2-0 win against Test Valley.
Under-10's leaders Porton were held 2-2 at home by mid-table Vernham and Upper Clatford are now just a point behind after beating Test Valley 4-1. In the other game played Broughton also won 2-0 at Whitchurch.
