BARRY Blankley and Pete Moore are the new joint managers of Dr Martens Eastern Division basement boys Bashley.
The twin appointment was confirmed last night after Poole Town boss Moore had broken the news to the Dolphins following their 1-1 Hampshire Premier Division draw at Vosper Thornycroft.
Blankley, who was sacked as Bash manager just eight months ago, will reacquaint himself with the players at the home game against Tonbridge this Saturday but leave caretaker boss Derek Binns in charge for one last game.
Moore is unwilling to leave Poole in the lurch and has offered to stay on at Tatnam Park until they find a replacement.
The 44-year-old said: "I'm meeting with Poole's vice-chairman today to discuss what to do.
"They may be happy to let me leave straight away, but if they want me to stay until they find someone else, I will. Barry will run Bashley on his own until I can join him."
Neither man is a stranger to Bashley. Both have played and held managerial positions during a rollercoaster last decade at the New Forest club.
Moore was assistant boss/coach during Trevor Parker's reign and Blankley, 37, had two spells as manager either side of Jimmy Case's stint in the hot seat.
Southampton-based Blankley felt shoddily treated by the club when they sacked him earlier this year, but he said: "I can hold my head up going back to Bashley knowing I did nothing wrong.
"Pete and I have never worked together, but I've known him for ten years or so to have a drink with and exchange pleasantries.
"It should work well between us as he can keep am eye on what's happening in Bournemouth and I can see what's local on the Southampton front."
For Moore, it will be a wrench to leave Poole after four happy years.
He said: "I'd never have left for a Wessex League club, but a chance to manage at Southern League is a different thing altogether. I want to pit my wits in a new challenge."
