THE BOBBY Lobby scheme at Chandler's Ford switched into festive gear as police officers drove home the dangers of drinking and driving.
Held in the foyer of the Asda supermarket, the Bobby Lobby Saturday sessions have become a popular contact point for residents to talk face-to-face with local beat officers about a wide range of policing matters.
With the party season in top gear, a special Bobby Lobby session was devoted to spreading the Yuletide message that drinking and driving do not mix. Traffic police gave demonstrations of the breath-test kit and there were hard-hitting posters on the perils of drinking and driving.
A store spokesman said: "Obviously we sell drink but we are pleased to help the police educate the public about the dangers of drinking and driving.
"We want to make sure that people have a safe Christmas."
