ECLECTIC and star-studded are the best words to describe Salisbury City Hall's new season line-up.
With everything from cover bands to comedy stars, by way of circus and science, City Hall really does have something to please everyone.
Those who think the only entertainment worth leaving the house for is a lot of men kicking a ball around a muddy field may decide to make a trip to the theatre to spend an evening with one of football's legends for An Audience With Jimmy Greaves next month.
Any band worth its salt has a cover band these days and a fair number of them are playing at City Hall next year.
The new season line-up includes tributes to ABBA, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Queen, Sinatra, The Beatles and more.
Those who prefer to see the real thing rather than impressive impersonators can look forward to listening to the genuine article with appearances by Alexander O'Neal, Billy Bragg, The Tremeloes, Hank Marvin, The Spencer Davis Group, The Yardbirds, The Troggs and Marti Webb.
Comedy also gets a good showing, with Lenny Henry, Ken Dodd, Joe Pasquale and Clive James all stepping into the limelight.
Other shows included in the line-up are Zippo's Circus, The ever-popular Reduced Shakespeare Company's take on religion in The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged), Johnny Ball's educational show for children, Tales of Blooming Science, opera classic, Tosca and lots more.
