PENSIONERS from Oakley had a great time when they put on their glad rags and enjoyed a Christmas treat together.
Tadley Court was the venue organised for the event by the Oakley Old Folk Fund Committee after a year of fundraising.
Personal invitations were sent to all 158 residents in Oakley over the age of 75.
Ineke Butcher, from the committee, said she was delighted that 110 people took up the offer.
Two sessions were organised with one group going to Tadley Court for lunch and another for dinner in the evening, which included a guest appearance from Father Christmas and a raffle.
Ineke said: "It was absolutely fantastic - it went off really well and was a real social affair."
She said that the lunch and dinner provided the chance for village friends to meet up, particularly for those who can't get around so well.
She said: "They don't see each other much because the village is quite spread out.
"Sometimes they don't see each other from one year to the next."
