Chris Collinge is set to quit as Brockenhurst boss after the Badgers crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Eastleigh - the ambitious New Forest club's seventh Jewson Wessex League slip up.

Collinge faces Football Association disciplinary action after being reported for misconduct at the end of a match in which Brockenhurst conceded two penalties and had central defender Simon Elley sent off.

The outspoken 33-year old manager, who is already under the threat of a 35-day touchline ban following an FA Vase incident earlier this season, has told the Brockenhurst board that he will stand down as soon as they have found a replacement.

Collinge claimed he had "lost patience with the standard of Wessex League officials" after the latest defeat which has effectively ended Brockenhurst's season.

He was bitterly unhappy with the performance of Dorset referee Kevin Francis after a Craig McAllister hat-trick had sent the Badgers plunging to 11th place in the table.

Collinge said: "I read that Alex Pike said he thought about quitting because of poor refereeing last weekend, well I am quitting because I can't take any more.

"I just feel that I have to make a stand for my own sake as much as anything else.

"I have to go now before I get myself into trouble."

Manager Mick Marsh is playing down Gosport's championship prospects - even though Borough have climbed into third place, with five games in hand of leaders Fleet Town.

A last minute goal by Les Sharp clinched a 3-2 win at stuttering AFC Totton to leave Borough only five points adrift of Fleet, who drew 1-1 at Christchurch.

"It's very open at the moment, but Andover are still the team to beat," Marsh forecast.

"We will be happy with a top six finish."

Totton, whose own title credentials have dipped with three successive defeats, charged into a 2-0 lead through Kevin Reacord and inspirational new signing Patrick James.

But Sharp promptly pulled a goal back for Gosport, who drew level from Neil Scammell's 69th minute header.

"I would have been happy with a draw," conceded Marsh.

"But we kept on going and Les Sharp popped up with a last minute volley."

Mark Frampton's 64th minute equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for Fleet at Christchurch, who had taken the lead through Charlie Richards, the former Brockenhurst player.

Andy Forbes notched a third successive hat-trick as champions Andover, six games behind most of their rivals, spanked Blackfield & Langley 5-0.

Shaun Dyke and Paul Odey added to Blackfield's woe.

Lymington & New Milton have lost six times, but they are still in contention after Richie Glenister's 27th minute goal proved a winner against off-colour Thatcham Town, who have suffered four successive league and cup defeats.

Ian Chalk and Matt Holmes helped FA Vase hopefuls Bemerton Heath Harlequins win 2-0 at Cowes Sports.

Manager Andy Leader raced the entire length of Day's Park waving his substitute's shirt in the air after bundling in BAT's last minute 2-1 winner at Swanage Town & Herston.

Leader's opportunist goal earned BAT their just desserts - the Tobaccomen wasting a hatful of chances before Lee McArthur gave Swanage a surprise 48th minute lead.

But a cracking Richie Hurst equaliser and Leader's last-gasp strike gave BAT victory and vital breathing space at the bottom.

Despite including a host of new signings, Whitchurch United went down 2-1 to Bournemouth.

Adam Thomas's injury-time consolation goal came too late to wipe out Paul Honeybun's second-half brace for the Poppies.

Richie Morse clawed Hamble ASSC back into the game shortly after the interval at Portland United, but once Darren Whyton had scored his second goal on the hour, the writing was on the wall for Neil Prosser's new charges.

Portland, 2-0 ahead at the break through Whyton and James Reeve, went on to win 5-1, with Mark Carter and Mark Kenway scoring late on.

Hamble have played three matches more than basement boys Downton, who lost 3-0 to Fareham Town, who had James Lacey, Adam Stallard and Gary Franklin on target.
