POLICE are keen to speak to the driver of a lorry following a fatal road accident near King's Somborne on Tuesday morning.
Two small cars, a Ford Fiesta travelling north and an Austin Metro heading south, were in collision at 11.15am on the B3057 King's Somborne to Romsey road close to the junction with Horsebridge Road.
A 76-year-old female passenger in the beige Metro was taken to hospital in Winchester where she later died.
The 79-year-old female driver of the Metro and the two occupants of the blue Fiesta, both sailors in their 20s, also needed hospital attention.
"Police are anxious to contact the driver of a lorry who failed to stop at the scene as he may have vital information about the crash," said a police spokeswoman.
The dead woman, who has not been named, came from the Winchester area. Four ambulances attended the scene and the road was closed until 3.45pm.
