EVERYONE loves a good pantomime at this time of year.
Christmas just wouldn't be the same without this seasonal opportunity for celebrities to don a silly costume and for the audience to shout: "He's behind you!"
This year, The Anvil, Basingstoke, is putting on panto favourite Mother Goose - a tale of greed, adventure and a goose that lays golden eggs.
Mother Goose and her sons, Chuckie and Tom, are not wealthy but they are happy.
One day, Chuckie and Tom decide to buy their mother a birthday present - a goose called Priscilla who happens to lay golden eggs.
Mother Goose has all the riches she desires but becomes greedy and sells Priscilla in return for a visit to the Fountain of Eternal Youth.
Stepping into two of the lead roles are stars of children's television and more, Keith Chegwin and Christopher Lillicrap.
Helping the show to go with a swing will be the Waltzing Waters, a seven-piece live band.
Mother Goose is on at The Anvil from Saturday to January 6. Tickets cost from £10 for children and £13 for adults. For more information, call 01256 844244.
