THERE was some pretty nifty footwork at Queen Mary's College when the Happy Feet Dance Club dazzled the audience at its final show as part of the £1,000 Breakthrough Challenge.
One hundred dancers from the club, based at Hill Rise Hall, Brighton Hill, took part in the challenge to help raise breast cancer awareness.
Principle Diane Pearce said the club has almost doubled the amount needed to complete the challenge, partly thanks to two sell-out performances at Brighton Hill Community School.
Diane said: "People were congratulating me, saying it was a fantastic, amazing and very professional show.
"The girls worked extremely hard to achieve such a high standard. I am so proud of them."
The show consisted mainly of children performing jazz dance and ladies tap dancing.
She said: "I got involved in the challenge because a friend died of beast cancer a few years ago and it raises awareness that we can all do something to help."
Diane said she was grateful to everyone who helped with the show, especially her mum, Ivy Merrett, who made all the children's costumes.

Dancers who received awards at the QMC show were: Bethanine Day, Achievement Award; Helen O'Meara, Confidence Shield; Mia Pearce, Dedication Shield; Faye Chapple, Stacie Davis and Joanna Maltby, Choreographer Shield.
