AFC Totton are four points adrift in the Jewson Wessex League leadership tussle after crashing to a 4-2 defeat against title challengers AFC Newbury.

Back-to-back defeats - Totton lost 5-4 to resurgent Blackfield & Langley last week - have enabled Fleet Town to establish a three point advantage at the top.

Second-half goals by Steve Watt and Carl Henry gave Newbury victory after Totton pair Kevin Reacord and James Sherrington had scored twice inside 90 seconds to wipe out a 2-0 deficit.

But the earlier strikes by Watt and Tommy Pegler gave Newbury the platform from which to launch their victory.

Leaders Fleet spilled unexpected points when lowly Swanage Town & Herston hit back from 2-0 down for a 2-2 draw at Calthorpe Park.

An Ian Mancey double had Fleet cruising, but Jy Taylor and Callum Brierley grabbed a point for Swanage after the break.

John Diaper suffered his first defeat as Eastleigh manager when a second-half goal by on-song Graham Lindsey earned Gosport Borough a deserved 2-1 win at Privett Park.

Diaper's winning managerial start looked set to continue when Dave Puckett gave Eastleigh the lead, but once John Cripps equalised, the writing was on the wall for Eastleigh.

BAT looked set for an upset when Andy Chance fired them into an interval lead against title holders Andover at Southern Gardens.

But Andover's tactical changes brought dramatic results - Andy Forbes notching a hat-trick as Andover scored six second-half goals to run out 6-1 winners.

Dave Asker (2) and Shaun Dyke added to BAT's woe.

Leigh Phillips bagged a hat-trick - and took his tally to nine goals in the last six games - as Lymington & New Milton caned Fareham Town 4-0 at Cams Alders.

Lymington, whose second goal came from Richie Glennister, had the points wrapped up after leading 3-0 at half-time.

Blackfield & Langley's remarkable transformation under Terry Smith's leadership continued with a 2-1 win over Portland United at Gang Warily.

John Rowley and Simon Eagle put the Watersiders 2-0 up before Darren Whyton grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

Hamble's relegation plight deepened with a 2-1 home defeat by Whitchurch United, who halted a run of six successive defeats at Folland Park.

Richard Morse was on target for Hamble, but Neil Butler and George McNulty won it for Whitchurch.
