Milton Keynes 4 Basingstoke Bison 5
THE BISON completed a four-point weekend by winning in Milton Keynes against a team which included six former Bison players.
The only goal of the first period came in the sixth minute as Derek Higdon found man-of-the-match Dru Burgess and he scored into the roof of the net.
At the midway point of the session, the Kings lost Jeff Daniels, hit in the face by the puck as it deflected off a stick. He went to hospital with a wound under his eye and, although he later returned to the rink, took no further part in the game.
The home side hit back at the start of the second session when David Clarke and Simon Howard scored.
But after that the visitors took control, scoring four unanswered goals from former King Higdon, Armstrong, Burgess and Higdon again.
Just 75 seconds into the final session, former Bison Danny Meyers pulled a goal back and then Greg Randall made it 5-4 in the 53th minute.
The home side then threw everything at the Bison but were unable to net an equaliser.
Former Bison Dwayne Newman was the Kings' man-of-the-match.
