WHITCHURCH face another crunch six-pointer in the Wessex League tomorrow when they travel to Hamble, one place above them, in a basement battle.
Last Saturday, Whitchurch finally found the back of the net after a long goal dearth, scoring three times before being beaten 5-3 by visiting Blackfield and Langley.
Whitchurch football supremo John Mas said: "It was not a pretty match to watch and we have to show more determination and passion."
The home side found themselves 2-0 down from a free-kick and a corner early in the first half, before hitting back as Mark Reece's super cross was put away by Adam Thomas.
Soon after, new signing Steve McNulty had a volley climb just over the bar.
On the stroke of half-time, another free kick led to a third goal for the visitors.
For the start of the second half, Neil Butler and Mario Nurse came on for Whitchurch but Kevin Knight gave away a penalty to concede a 4-1 lead.
With Dean Robinson (pictured) pushing forward, the home side pulled a goal back from a goalmouth scramble through Neil Butler.
Whitchurch pulled another goal back soon after as Robinson's left-wing cross was headed in at the far post by Butler to make it 4-3.
From there, they should have gone on to win the contest but instead Blackfield netted a fifth to take all three points.
