A SCHOOL on the edge of the New Forest is celebrating the opening of a new physiotherapy suite.
Abbotswood Junior School in Ringwood Road, Totton, has several pupils who suffer from physical handicaps.
Some of the children have cerebral palsy, while others are confined to a wheelchair or have to wear callipers.
They need 30-minute physiotherapy sessions as part of their school day.
Head teacher Gary Heath said: "We used to use a classroom, but that facility didn't really value the children as much as we would wish.
"The governors decided to provide a purpose-built physiotherapy suite as the next stage in Abbotswood's development."
Mr Heath said the £45,000 facility was funded by the school, plus money raised by the sale of school land.
It was opened by site manager Wayne Sullivan and Abbotswood pupil Matthew Stewart.
