A bumper crop of grants totalling nearly £50,000 has been announced by the Lottery's Awards For All scheme for groups on the Isle of Wight.
The grants will help local organisations buy equipment, train volunteers, run events, publicise their activities and recruit members.
The organisations to benefit are:
* Bembridge cricket Club - £5,000 for youth cricket coaching and links with its local middle school.
* Help East Cowes Kids - £5,000 to update and renew play equipment.
* Isle of Wight Real Nappy Network - £3,980 for an awareness programme on environmental issues surrounding nappy disposal.
* Jig-Saw - £4,964 towards a counselling service for child sex abuse victims.
* Northwood Women's Institute - £4,396 to improve disabled facilities at a local meeting hall.
* Osel Enterprises Ltd - £2,435 for equipment to help adults with learning difficulties at a horticultural nursery.
* Plessey Cricket Club - £1,078 to develop links with local schools and provide winter training.
* Ryde High School - £4,061 to develop an early years' activity programme for three to-five-year-olds to learn through physical activity.
* Ryde Mead Lawn Tennis Club - £2,735 to link with five local schools to provide coaching.
* Ryde Rugby Union Football Club - £4,080 for equipment to assist with senior and junior rugby.
* The Royal British Legion Isle of Wight County - £4,200 for two events to help celebrate the Queen's golden jubilee in 2002.
* West Wight Trampoline Club - £5,000 for new equipment to help boost membership.
* Hampshire and Isle of Wight Association of Local Sports Councils and Forums - £5,000 to help develop a programme for young officials, referees and umpires.
