A SPECIAL seat and Walnut tree have been unveiled at Shepherds Spring Junior School in memory of a dinner lady who died last year. A special memorial service was held for Mrs Linda Webb, who was dinner lady at the school from November 1996 until December 2000. Mrs Webb also used to listen to children read at the infant school. At the service, children read out specially written prayers, with one describing her as 'the perfect dinner lady'. Year six pupil Melissa Hooley played the flute to accompany a hymn. Afterwards, the school witnessed the dedication of the seat and tree. The Rev Brian Cox said: "May they be a constant reminder to all those who use it of all Mrs Webb meant to the school, its staff and helpers. "I dedicate this in thanksgiving for all her hard work and service to the school." A representative from the infant school also attended the memorial service.
