Patients from Fareham and Gosport who need to have orthopaedic operations will be flown to Germany under a new pilot scheme.
The first batch of patients could be sent in the new-year according to health authority chief executive, Penny Humphris.
She told a meting of the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and South-East Hampshire Health Authority yesterday that the £375,000 scheme will help reduce waiting lists.
