TEENAGER Suni Bolina scored one of the goals of the season as Trojans thrashed Southampton 5-1 to strengthen their position at the top of Hampshire League Division 1.
Receiving the ball on the halfway line, Bolina rounded three Southampton defenders at pace before lashing the ball into the top left-hand corner.
"I don't think the goalkeeper knew which day of the week it was when the ball flew past him," joked Campbell Williams, Trojans' playmaker captain.
"We were 2-0 up when Suni struck his goal. It sealed the match."
Trojans, who have scored 55 goals in ten matches, emphasised their first-half supremacy with goals by Chris Rhodes and Wayne Shepheard.
Shepheard and Colin French, vying for the niche as Trojans top scorer, added to Bolina's third as the Stoneham Laners underlined their superiority.
With one round of matches before the Christmas break - Trojans visit Haslemere - the Stoneham club are in a strong position.
"But the New Year games with Fleet and Wimborne will be decisive," Williams warns.
Patrick Bass can't seem to stop scoring goals for Fordingbridge, who are pressing hard for promotion from Hampshire League Division 2.
Bass followed up his five-goal blitz against Chichester Health with a hat-trick in the 4-0 win at Ryde, where Paul O'Connell was also on target.
Six-goal Salisbury are still in the hunt, but Portsmouth & Southsea are mid-season favourites for promotion after thumping Gosport 5-1.
Old Edwardians trimmed Farnborough 2-1, but Eastleigh stay bottom after losing 4-2 at Chichester Health.
