HAMPSHRIE'S Bob Crawley enjoyed a good run at the Vauxhall Open before coming up against the formidable Phil Taylor.
Crawley reached the last 16 of the professional singles, only to meet PDC world champion Phil Taylor when he was handed a 5-0 defeat.
However the Hampshire star can take a lot of credit for his performance, which allows him to amass more PDC ranking points.
Hampshire's fast-improving James Wade has added the Swedish Under- 21 singles title to his growing list of honours after beating top Finn Markus Korhonen in the final in Uppsala.
Wade's reward was a sixth place seeding in the senior men's singles.
He reached the last 64 and was the best placed Hampshire player in the event.
Other Hampshire-based players went out in the second round and they including Steve Shadwell, who lost 2-3 to Wade, Ian Eames and Lee Padwick.
Wade and Steve Shadwell joined forces for the men's pairs where they reached the last 32. Padwick and Eames went out in the second round. On the opening night of the tournament Eames reached the last eight of a blind draw doubles with a Swedish lady.

Portsmouth's lead at the top of the Sunday division has been cut after they were beaten 5-4 at home by Winchester.
Dee Bennett and Sandy Wheeler won the first pairs match for Portsmouth. Angela Jones and Jane Allen equalised shortly after.
Jane Allen then beat Sandy Wheeler in the first singles to put Winchester ahead for the first time.
Singles victories for Dee Bennett, Jane Monaghan and Jim Fraser gave Portsmouth the edge. But it was soon blunted. Angela Jones levelled and Sue Power hit the winner in beating Pam Hayman.
