EXECUTIVE pedal power took meals on wheels to three, elderly Andover residents when Test Valley Borough Council's chief officer lent his support to organisers, Andover WRVS.
The WRVS is always in need of volunteer drivers for the scheme which supplies 150 meals a day in Andover and as far afield as Shipton Bellinger, Fullerton and Longparish.
Chief executive, Alan Jones, who is a keen cyclist praised the scheme which he said was a 'lifeline' for elderly people.
"There is a desperate need for volunteer drivers and I would be quite happy to be a volunteer as soon as I retire," he said.
"I have nothing but admiration for the present drivers, mostly women, who work so hard."
The first meal he pedalled away with from the WRVS kitchens at St Ann's Hall was for Mrs Partridge, aged 102 who lives in Andover.
