THE Lifeline alarm system in Test Valley is celebrating its 3,500th installation after 15 years.
Mrs Violet Cook, who lives in Andover, received a bouquet to mark the occasion and praised the system. "Having Lifeline makes me feel more secure," she said.
Testway Housing's service provides a 24 hour emergency alarm system for those people who feel vulnerable living at home, responding to calls for assistance and contacting emergency services and nominated contacts on behalf of the client.
Over the years the Lifeline service has enabled clients to continue living independently with the reassurance and peace of mind that help is available at all times.
Many Lifeline clients are also benefiting from Lifeline plus, an 'add on' service available from Testway Housing's team of mobile wardens who provide a visiting and 24 hour emergency response, working with Lifeline operators, social services and health professionals.
They aim to support independence in the community for customers who are elderly, disabled and those with special needs.
The visiting service which can be tailored to individual needs, is offered for short or long-term periods and is proving extremely popular with clients and their families. Holiday cover, when there is no-one around or following discharge from a hospital stay with support needed during a recuperation period are just two of the many reasons people are choosing Lifeline plus.
