DREW CAMPBELL and Darren Elliott both bagged hat-tricks as the Basingstoke Buffalo stole the thunder of Milton Keynes winning 13-3 in their latest league clash.

The Hampshire ice hockey outfit outshot the Milton Keynes Thunder 57 to 8, and it wasn't long before Campbell opened his account with the Buffalo's first goal assisted by Anthony Page and Mark Jordan. They led 5-1 after the first period with goals from Elliott, Dean Phillimore and Rob Etheridge.

Milton Keynes fared no better in the second period, scoring four more through Anthony Page (2), Elliott, and Etheridge.

Midway through the second period, with the hosts on top, Craig Astill was replaced by Dominic Bridger in the Buffalo net.

Andy Watt then pulled one back for the Thunder but, with less than a minute left in the period, Campbell added the Buffalo's tenth goal.

Three minutes into the third period, while short-handed, Leigh Baker, assisted by Etheridge, made it 11-2.

On the powerplay, Milton Keynes' Michael Lucas, assisted by Andy Linton scored their third and final goal.

With the visitors having a five-minute major penalty, Mike Newberry and Elliott added the two final goals of the game.
