The Salisbury and District AC opens on the Hampshire Avon and Nadder saw the top three weights come from the latter with Salisbury angler Ian Goodfellow taking ten chub for 22lb 11oz on the waggler and maggot.

He got the better of Mark Cannings of Salisbury who took 20lb 6oz of dace and chub from the Crown Street Bridge area of the Nadder on waggler and maggot.

Colin Swebey of Salisbury finished third with 17lb of dace from the old peoples home on the Nadder on stick float and maggot. Salisbury's Tom Baker topped the Avon with 8lb 4oz consisting of three chub and bits with Ray Ridges second with 7lb 12oz and Salisbury's match secretary Paul Barnard third with 7lb 4oz.

Bournemouth and West Hants Water Company held a club match on Long Lake and Willow at Mike Smith's Hordle Complex with Dynamite Baits sponsored angler Ginger Hall taking four carp for 18lb on the long pole from Willow using pellet on the hook to win easily from Mick Wiffing with three carp for 10lb 3oz from Long Lake with John Hunt third with 5lb.

Cormorants held their annual charity match on the River Test at Broadlands in aid of The Leonora Cancer Fund which saw inform angler Graham Maton take chub plus a couple of grayling for 15lb 3oz on bread for a comfortable victory and £126 in prize money. Kaz Padsadowki finished second with two chub and grayling for 9lb 13oz with John Banks third with 8lb 14oz of chub and grayling with Garry Wright fourth with 8lb 12oz.

In the competition for the highest weight of trout Garry Wright took 34lb 7oz of fish to the scales to win from Dave Nightingale with 23lb 12oz with Simon Hambridge third with 19lb 12oz and Steve Bucksey fourth with 17lb 12oz.

Sunday sees the eagerly awaited fifth round of The Hants, Wilts and Dorset Winter League on the Lower Stour which should fish well if the Stour Championships are anything to go on.
