A NEW radio station aimed at Southampton's Asian community is banking on success after receiving a cash boost.
Radio Art Asia, on 87.7FM, hit the airwaves last week and will broadcast for the next month.
Bosses from Barclays Bank in The Avenue, handed over a £750 cheque at the station's headquarters in Radcliffe Road, Northam, as a token of support.
Vinod Desai, Art Asia chief executive, said: "This is a really big help and we are very pleased.
"The station is already going really well and we have had a lot of good feedback.
"The support from the whole community in Southampton has been tremendous."
The station broadcasts 24-hours a day in English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati and Bengali.
