Chandler's Ford kart racer Chris Derrick retained the Two Counties Kart Club Formula Blue 2001 Championship.
He fought off an ex-national champion for the title by a combination of sheer speed and consistently good results.
The Two Counties Kart Club meetings take place at the Hullavington circuit near Swindon, Wilts, and its members include past and present national champions so the calibre of driving is very high.
With a win and two second places in the heats, Derrick had done enough to make the championship his for the second year running.
The three-times Matchams Kart Club champion has now won five titles in succession making him Hampshire's top driver in the Formula Blue class.
This weekend Derrick is in action at Dunkeswell in Devon where he is hoping to continue his good form after winning the last two races there.
Derrick is currently looking for sponsors for the 2002 season. Any companies interested in an exciting way of advertising please contact Chris on 07768 170863 or 023 8026 9705.
