SOUL sensation is back in Bournemouth next month - and the Daily Echo is giving fans the chance to see her live.

Carroll, who made a spectacular entry into the British charts in the early Nineties , will be bringing her smooth soul sound to the Bournemouth International Centre on Wednesday, December 19.

Carroll may have been quiet in recent years, but a successful new compilation album, The Very Best of Dina Carroll, and a special recording of Van Morrison's Someone Like You on the Bridget Jones's Diary soundtrack have seen her leap back into the fray.

Carroll is now capitalising on the exposure with a greatest hits UK tour.

She first entered the charts in 1991 fronting a band called Quartz, but it was another couple of years before she made it big as a solo artist.

The release of her debut album, So Close, in 1993 established her as a major talent, earning her a Brit Award, and three other Brit nominations, the following year.

The album spawned five hit singles and went on to sell 1.5 million copies in the UK alone, thanks to its appealing combination of pop, R&B, club hits and soul ballads.
