Butter-fingered fumbles and stray passes are making Tottonians rugby players cringe with fear - knowing a forfeit will mean an embarrassing week on three wheels.
The popular rugby club has taken a leaf out of Leeds United FC's book by making the "Plonker of the Week" drive a Del Boy-style Robin Reliant to training.
The idea came from players' committee chairman Rory Armstrong and, much like the car, it backfired on first team sponsor Alastair Ramus.
Totts notched up such a huge winning margin the week the Reliant was delivered that there was no obvious candidate for the unwanted title. So the players showed their gratitude for Ramus's sponsorship by putting him behind the wheel for the first week.
"It really is a bit of fun but it also keeps players on their toes, no one really wants to take it home with them," said Armstrong.
"It's all part of trying to raise awareness of the club. It has been a part of the expanding town for many years but we know there are many locals who do not realise what standard we have risen to.
"Things have changed since the days of having the old clubhouse a couple of miles away from the gsound.
"We now have some of the best facilities in Hampshire and are playing at our highest standard ever and hold second place in London South West Four."
Tottonians next home first team match is against Old Emanuel on October 20.
