Nicholson Interiors Limited, Southampton-based interiors specialist have added FBM Babcock Marine's latest high speed passenger ferry Universal MK1 to their list of successfully completed high speed light craft, making this vessel No 42.
With orders for other lightweight interiors this will bring the total so far to 45.
Most companies would be happy with this ground breaking record, if achieved over a company's lifespan. Nicholson Interiors have achieved this in the last seven years of its 16-year history.
Nicholson Interiors have worked with FBM since 1994 and subsequently many other shipyards in the world. In the development of lightweight interiors, in all aspects of the marine business, FBM are regarded as world leaders, both in the ferry business and superyacht interiors of various types.
Roger Nicholson, managing director of Nicholson Interiors said "If you can't predict the future, invent it. FBM gave us the chance in 1994 to be innovators, we did that and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. When we put forward our proposals for Universal Mk1 to Babcocks in Scotland at Christmas last year they said "this is not rocket science. However, now following the completion of this, our latest interior, their view has changed somewhat."
Nicholson Interiors latest marketing approach starts with :"Rocket science has limitations, we disagree."
