CROSS-Solent passenger services between Southampton and the Isle of Wight were back to normal today after a high speed catamaran carrying 120 people collided with a yacht in Cowes.
No-one was hurt in the incident during which all the passengers were evacuated from Red Funnel's Red Jet 2 in the middle of Cowes Harbour and shuttled safely ashore on Saturday.
Police and official harbour launches converged on the scene, about 300 metres from the shore, keeping the area clear of the many boats that were taking part in Skandia Life Cowes Week regatta as the passengers were taken off the vessel.
After a full inspection the catamaran was returned to service.
