John Molyneaux will be coming home with a haul of national honours to add to his Southern Counties and Island Games trophies.
He won the 13 years' 200m backstroke in 2min 18.41sec, nearly two seconds faster than his nearest rival, David Waslin.
That reversed their fortunes in the 100m, where Molyneaux was second in 1:05.56 behind Waslin (Kingston).
Molyneaux was second again to Waslin in the 50m back (30.73sec).
The islander is on something of a roll.
He made three finals and picked up a relay bronze at the recent Island Games - a step up into senior competition that he described as his "most frightening experience".
But he clearly thrived on the experience and had six finals and three podium finishes in Southern Counties.
Coach Trevor Collins, while cautioning that it's early days, tentatively compares him to West Wight's Olympic and World Championship star Darren Mew.
He said: "I think John's ambitions are similar to Darren's - and he's on a similar path at this age."
