A SOUTHAMPTON man has admitted injuring a resident of a block of flats so viciously his ear was severed.
Leslie Cole, 21, stamped on Christopher Allison's head in a neighbourhood dispute over a barking dog.
The row happened at flats in Clover Nooke in Old Redbridge Lane, Redbridge, late at night.
The victim suffered his appalling injury on the second-floor stairwell at the flats where he lived.
The Daily Echo reported at the time how the Hampshire Ambulance Service was called to the scene on June 10 after being alerted by an emergency call and paramedics informed the police after seeing the victim's condition.
He was said to have been lapsing in and out of consciousness after the attack in which he also suffered a badly-broken jaw. A huge pool of blood was also visible on the stairwell when police arrived.
Mr Allison was rushed to the General Hospital where the severed left ear was sewed back in surgery.
Yesterday Cole, of Hornchurch Road, Lordshill, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was remanded in custody for sentence on August 28. Charles Gabb, defending, made no application for bail.
