DETECTIVES investigating the alleged attempted murder of mother-of-four Vivien Watson are following up several leads.

Police want to trace the owners of cars seen near the Hambledon bridlepath where the 43-year-old, was found naked, severely in-jured and barely conscious.

After being discovered last week, Mrs Watson - who is from Southbourne, near Emsworth - remains in a stable but critical condition in Southampton Gen-eral Hospital.

Witnesses reported seeing a number of vehicles parked in a country lane next to the path where Mrs Watson, pictured, was found by an early morning dog-walker.

Police want to talk to the drivers of a small white van - possibly a Bedford Rascal - and a red saloon car - possibly a Vauxhall.

The vehicles were spotted at around 8.45pm on Monday, July 23, parked next to a barn at the end of the track where Mrs Watson was found the following morning. At 7.15pm the same evening, a dark-coloured saloon car and a white flat-bed truck were seen parked bonnet-to-bonnet on Old Winchester Hill Road.

Detectives also want to hear from anyone who spotted at grey/blue Rover 820, registration J724 UVC, in the area anytime between 5pm and 10.30pm on the Monday evening.

And they would like to talk to anyone who visited the Chidden Down area between East Meon and Hambledon between 5pm and 10.30pm.
