A BRAVE teenager left fighting for his life following a brutal gang attack on a Southampton housing estate has returned home.
Sean Kelly, 19, needed emergency surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain after being set upon by up to 15 youths as he waited at a bus stop in Thornhill on Friday evening.
His family feared the worst when his condition began deteriorating following the vicious group assault in Burgoyne Road just before midnight. But after spending a frantic weekend in the neurological unit at Southampton General Hospital, Sean regained consciousness and has made rapid progress this week.
Today a hospital spokeswoman confirmed Sean had been well enough to be discharged.
It is understood the teenager, an apprentice refrigeration engineer, is now recovering at home with his family in Elgar Close, Sholing.
The move came as detectives revealed a fourth youth had been arrested and later bailed in connection with the alleged attack.
