HAMPSHIRE-based property firm Austin Adams is celebrating ten years in business with the accolade of being named the most active regional property agent.
During the past decade the firm, which has offices in Southampton and Portsmouth, and specialises in agency, investment and professional services, has trebled in size.
It was set up in 1991 when Ian Hillman, Mark Budden and Neville Thompson led a management buyout of Austin & Wyatt's commercial department from the Nationwide Building Society. Austin & Wyatt could trace its origins back to 1836.
Each of the founding directors brought complementary areas of expertise to the new business in agency, planning and residential development. They were joined soon after the buyout by Jon Diaper and more recently by Gary Aiken.
Director Ian Hillman said: "Despite starting business in the trough of the UK's property recession, the directors' professional experience and detailed knowledge of the southern market led to steady expansion for the firm.''
