HAMPSHIRE police today appealed to the public to help them trace a "vulnerable" 57-year-old missing man who suffers from chronic depression.

James McIntosh, whose family is in Scotland, had been staying with friends at an address in the West End area for rehabilitation purposes for several months.

He left his temporary home at about 6pm on Monday, July 16 and has not been seen since.

Hedge End-based PC Chris Blake said: "We are concerned for his welfare in relation to his condition. He suffers from chronic depression and is on anti-depressants - but he has not taken his medication with him."

Police believe Mr McIntosh, who was born in Scotland, may still be in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, medium build, ruddy/suntanned complexion with grey hair and a grey beard.

Anyone with information about Mr McIntosh should contact PC Blake at Hedge End police station on 0845 045 4545.
