LOCAL anglers are dominating the overall leader table of the Isac Open Pegged League after the seventh round held at West Bexington.
Steve Harder from Southampton topped the list followed by Wayne Perrett (Eastleigh), Trevor Spencer (Havant) and Don Perrett from Ryde on the Isle of Wight leading the pack.
Steve Deathe, a former England International from Southampton won the latest match which attracted 56 competitors with 14 dogfish, two smoothhound, one pout and a three bearded rockling together totalling 19lb 12oz.
Ian Dancey from Waterlooville was the runner-up on the night with 12 dogfish and a brace of poor cod weighing 16lb 15.50oz followed by Jack Seviour from Bournemouth with 14lb 1oz.
Species caught during the event included rockling, silver eels, smoothhound, scad, pout, poor cod, sole and dogfish.
The next match in the series will be held along the Ferry Bridge section of Chesil on August 11 with fishing from 8pm-1am, Trevor Sutch will have all the details 023 9220 1696.
The Wessex Division of the NFSA stage a pegged measure & return open on Saturday evening along the Ferry Bridge section of Chesil with fishing from 8pm to midnight. Tickets for the event, which is strictly pre-book, have been set at just £10. The match also doubles up as a Penns Point fixture.
