IT'S got everything from Brazilian to boogie to the Silver Beatles. In fact, the one thing you won't find at Winchester's Tower Water Music Festival is any water.
The free festival, hosted by The Tower arts centre and Winchester City Council, was originally planned to take place outdoors, but has now been moved inside The Tower.
Not that music fans will mind when they see the quality of the acts. The eclectic programme for the event, which takes place from midday to 7pm on Saturday, July 28, includes African indie band The Bhundu Boys, Sao Paolo singer Monica Vasconcelos, acclaimed country singer Peter Bruntnell, Fab Four tribute The Silver Beatles, and "mindless boogie" specialists The Fabulous Rockmen.
The Bhundu Boys first visited the UK 15 years ago and have been world music favourites ever since. Their latest return visit sees them back together with three of their original line-up, including group founder and lead guitarist Rise Kagona.
If Brazilian music is more your thing, you won't be disappointed by singer Monica Vasconcelos and her eight-piece backing band, Nois. Loved by samba and jazz fans, these Tower regulars boast a formidable line-up and offer a rich blend of musical styles.
Surbiton's own new-country star, Peter Bruntnell, pictured below, promises to be one of the highlights of the day, along with his band, which features James Walbourne on guitar.
Promising to lighten the mood somewhat are The Silver Beatles, one of the best-known Beatles tribute acts on the scene. Renowned for their verve and accuracy, they recreate the Beatles' several musical incarnations with an impressive eye for detail.
Finally, The Fabulous Rockmen, made up from local musicians, will be offering a good-natured romp through rock'n'roll history.
