THOUSANDS of nostalgia seeking visitors flocked to the Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show over the weekend.
Organisers say the 31st annual show could have attracted more than 30,000 steam engine fans eager to sample a little bit of history.
Throughout the three-day event they were treated to displays from 30 magnificently restored steam engines and a cast of hundreds of other vintage vehicles.
These included more than 200 vintage British motorcycles, 100 vintage cars, historic farm equipment, old military machines and fire engines.
Exhibitors, enthusiasts and visitors came from all over the country to enjoy the event, with 500 people camping at the site for the whole weekend.
Crowds were kept entertained by a team of falconers, daredevil roller skating act, and a dog-agility team.
Popular steeplejack turned BBC star Fred Dibnah travelled down from Lancashire with his steam engine.
Show secretary Tony Greenham said the event had been excellent.
"It looks like we have been very popular this year as there have not been many other events like this that have run because of foot-and-mouth.
"We hope that we will also be very successful in the amount of money that we raise for charity."
Last year the event organisers donated £11,000 to Netley Marsh Infant School and hope to make a similar donation to a charity else this year.
