A MYSTERY policewoman from Hampshire has scooped more than £57,000 at bingo.

The lucky 30-year-old, who wants to remain anonymous, is sharing the money with her mother and grandfather.

She is single and lives in Boyatt Wood, and was playing with her mother and grandfather at the Leo Leisure Club in Eastleigh.

She said she was shocked but "well chuffed" after her massive win.

She plans to spend the money on paying off her car loan, a holiday and double glazing for her house.

She said her mother, who has been a player for years, introduced her to bingo two or three years ago.

"When my nan died last year we started taking my grandfather with us. We usually play about twice a week," she added.

The woman won the National Bingo Game prize of £50,000, plus a further regional prize of £7,426 and the club prize of £28.

She completed a full house in 41 numbers, which proved to be the fewest anywhere nationwide on Tuesday.

Georgina Palmer, spokeswoman for the National Bingo Game, said: "She called in 41 numbers and then she had a 20-30 minute wait while all 550 clubs that link up across the country got their results back to the computer, and it was announced where the winner was."

Leo Leisure Club manager Peter Brown added: "While we've had a few regional winners, this is the first big winner we've had for about 18 months. If you've completed a full house in 41 numbers you know you're going to be close, but we had someone who had 37 which is extremely low but it was beaten by a club on 36 calls."
