SOUTHAMPTON GUILDHALL closes its doors for refurbishment this month, but has already secured some top names to make next season's calendar go with a bang.
The Black Crowes were due to play the final gig of this term last night but cancelled at the last minute to appear on Top of the Pops.
The first date of the autumn programme sees Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals (pictured) appearing on September 26.
The Furries release their new album, Rings Around The World, on Monday, following the success of their current excellent single, Juxtapozed With U, which has more than a passing resemblance to something by the Lighthouse Family, only it's a lot better.
Also playing at the Guildhall later in the year are singer-comedian Richard Blackwood on September 27, Rolf Harris on October 13, French outfit Air on October 18 and Bjorn Again on November 2.
And as usual, you can also expect the Guildhall to come up trumps with some more top names nearer the time.
