SAINTS have two fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday's friendly at Swindon.

Already likely to be without Chris Marsden, Dan Petrescu, Marian Pahars and Jason Dodd, they lost Wayne Bridge and Mark Draper in last night's 3-1 win at Farnborough.

Bridge came off at half-time with a thigh problem while Draper took a bang on a foot from Robbie Herrera.

But coach Mick Wadsworth was quick to confirm: "Neither are serious.

"Wayne wanted to play on but, at this stage of the build-up, it is just not necessary. It would have been stupid to have left him on.

"Mark Draper is sore but should be okay for Swindon while Rory Delap also took a kick on a wrist .

"Again, that's nothing major. He looked as though he had been here some time while Anders Svensson showed lovely vision and passing plus good work-rate.

"He will take some time to adapt to the pace of the English game but both did well."

"The main purpose of the game was to gain fitness and a bit of cohesion and we achieved that pretty well."

The game livened up after the home side had taken the lead with Farnborough boy Mark Peters coming off the bench to make a big impact for Saints.

Peters scored one, made one and hit a post, and Wadsworth said: "He did very well.

"He has all the hallmarks of a natural goalscorer and hunts the near post very well. He scored a wonderful goal and was unlucky not to get more.

"This will have been good experience for him and the other young lads who got on and did well."

Svensson and Delap declared themselves reasonably pleased with their first appearances in a Southampton shirt. Delap said: "I felt a bit tired in the second half but I thought it went quite well for me. I enjoyed it."

Svensson added: "It was a bit different but, for a first time, I felt I did okay."
