MORE car parks in the Test Valley are heading for council control with a new plan for the Borough Council to watch over housing estate car parks.
Test Valley Borough Council recently took over car parking enforcement for the entire region from police. When they did so they pledged to double the fines from £30 to £60.
Under the new plan, Testway Housing will also pay the council to patrol four of its car parks - Beales Close and Rack Close, in Andover, and St Anne's House and Paimpol Place, in Romsey.
The council will then get the money from infringement notices, in addition to the management fee, and will also be responsible for issuing residents permits.
A fee has not been negotiated and Test Valley Borough Council's executive committee will consider the matter at its next meeting on Wednesday.
