THANKS to the watchful eyes at the Romsey Lifesaving Club, swimmers have now been safely protected for 25 years.
Past and present members of the club raised their glasses to celebrate the quarter of a century milestone. Spokeswoman Brenda Palk said the night started with the annual meeting at which chairman Marcus Watts retired.
"He had been chairman for 25 years, since the inception of the club. So he stepped down and we made a presentation to him of a bottle of whisky, which he wanted.
"Everyone had a fantastic time. It was very good. The weather helped as well."
Anyone who wants to join Romsey Lifesaving Cub can call Brenda on 01794 513862. It meets every Monday night at St Edwards School, Melchet Court, Sherfield English.
