Solent's Rising Stars basketball programme is moving into new territory next season with the addition of their first ever national league team for girls.
Coach Ollie Jerram will be leading her team into England Basketball Cadet Women's National League competition after a season playing local and regional friendlies.
Appealing for financial help for this new venture, Jerram said: "In girls' basketball you have to travel to get good quality competition and our transport costs will be much higher next year."
Alongside the girls, Solent will be running a full complement of boys' teams in the national leagues with entries at under-13, under-14 and under-15 Passerelle plus cadet, junior and under-20 Men.
Solent spokesman Keith Davies reported: "Once again our trials turned up some interesting new talent and we will be building on already strong squads at most age levels."
