Saints are close to completing a move for Spanish whizzkid Jacinta Ela Eyene.
The highly-rated 19-year-old striker is currently away at the European Youth Championships in Finland.
But he is expected to complete a Bosman free transfer from Espanyol at the end of the month - subject to international clearance.
Chairman Rupert Lowe said: "It is still to be confirmed but if it goes through it will be a good deal for us."
Manager Stuart Gray added: "He is one to groom for the future. He is a centre-forward who can play anywhere along the front.
"He is quick, has a good pedigree and one we have been monitoring for 18 months."
