THOUSANDS of residents and businesses in Fareham will again be hit by another wave of strike action by postal staff today.

It is the latest of four one-day-walkouts by staff at the Newgate Lane sorting office, and post will again remain undelivered across the borough.

Managers are being drafted in from across the region to operate a skeleton service but mail bosses are predicting deliveries will remain affected into the week.

The disputes come after talks between union representatives and Consignia managers failed to reach agreement on a host of issues over working conditions.

A ballot is expected to be taken this week by thousands of postal workers in the south. This will decide whether the strike action will spread to the entire area.
